IT'S THE LENS, BABY

yesterday was spent roaming around the harbor, playing with a new toy (see pics). today is the beginning of a 3-day weekend (aussie labour day) and we have much planned, including breakfast in surry hills, shopping on oxford street, checking out art museums and the aquarium, ferrying around the harbor, and possibly picnicking on manly beach. details to follow.

WE COOK TOO

last night we cooked our first meal in sydney. ricotta agnoletti with baby spinach and tomatoes. nothing fancy but still delicious. we accompanied it with an australian cabernet merlot. yum.

BASIC NECESSITIES

we got 'em. now, if we can just figure out the internet problem.

ANOTHER SUNNY DAY

might we get tired of sunshine and blue sky?

in spite of a pre-trip declaration to never photograph the opera house, i have photographed the opera house. it really is a sight to be seen, especially at night, glowing purple under the moonlight. oh, and the skyline's not too shabby either. but this is the last time we will post opera house pictures.

THE EARLY DAYS

we have arrived! and we are definitely adjusting. the time difference is hard to comprehend, as we are now living in the future. we are dead tired at 6 in the evening and wide awake at 3 am. alas, these things take time.

so far we've seen beaches, with massive waves, and have eaten some delicious meals. most notably, a vietnamese feast at a place called PHAMISH in the neighborhood of paddington.

here's a sampling of things bought (evoo, balsamic, dishwashing liguid, poppies) and food eaten (thai, organic pumpkin and feta tart) thus far...
